Review on 🌬️ Casablanca Caneel Bay Indoor/Outdoor Ceiling Fan: Energy-efficient LED Light & Convenient Wall Control by Rachel Martinez

As others have said this is a great looking fan BUT FOR THE MONEY IT IS NOT WORTH THE PROBLEM. First, as others have noted, the fan is quite noisy at high speed (makes a loud hum like a plane taking off). Given the aesthetic appeal, I'd be willing to live with the noise. However, what really amazes me is that the fan didn't come with a remote control (at least the version we got) - for a fan that retails for over $500! It has wall controls and although hardwired it only controls speed controllers or lights with working batteries in the unit. IF THE BATTERIES ARE ON, YOU MUST REMOVE THE COVER AND WALL CONTROL TO REPLACE THEM OR THE FAN WILL NOT WORK! Pretty annoying. Either a design flaw or deliberate play by Hunter (who now owns Casablanca) to trick the consumer into paying another $60 for the remote. Again on a fan that sells for over $500! I spoke to Hunter customer service about this and they were no help. Sitting out forever only to hear their CSR just threw up that they can only replace parts under warranty plus a bit of bullshit that customers don't mind removing the wall control to change batteries. To compare, I bought a second fan from Restoration Hardware for another room that's part of our add-on and it looks and works great, comes with a wall controller and remote, and is half the price. In my experience, RH's customer service is second to none. Although I've bought both Casablanca and Hunter in the past, I now avoid anything Hunter-related.
