This lantern has a "ring" design, the diameter of the ring is just under 5 inches. This is perfect for what I need. It has more functions, there is a headlight. But this is where the dimming feature comes in handy to adjust the lighting to your liking. I love the first one so much I took two for myself and one for my husband for his work.
