I have an old brass and crystal lamp I bought at a thrift store a few years ago but the socket is broken. I put it off but finally decided it was time to fix it. This outlet fixed everything. And because it was brass, it fitted even better than the old black cartridge that originally came on the lamp. It was easy to install and while it definitely looks cheap, it still feels solid enough when attached to the lamp. And hey, for the price, if it breaks again I'll replace it again. If you have an old lamp that needs an outlet, don't throw it away. Take one of these and fix it. It's very easy to do and you don't need an electrician. It's just two wires that you thread onto 2 screws and then thread onto the shaft. Did. Just make sure you reconnect the wires to the same terminal. Anyone can do this.
