They look big at first glance but are great for kids with wide feet. They look cheap and big, but I was surprised at how comfortable my kids seem to be. I think this material goes well with such shoes. I've had leather shoes in the past and my kids have always complained about how heavy they felt and how anointed they were when they had to put them on. So far we are very satisfied, don't know how long they will last, but teenage feet are growing pretty fast and I'm sure these shoes will last long enough. The price is good compared to "high quality leather shoes". The only thing that is very important is the metal on the sole of the shoe, but it can be removed and replaced.
