The flexible tip of this frying mop makes it easy to apply marinade, the last layer of barbecue sauce or oil to meat and better protects your hand from the heat of the grill. .When looking for a new basting mop, I wanted a product with silicone bristles that would make the mop more reusable compared to a regular cotton floss mop. The moderate density of the silicone bristles allows for a decent application of sauce or oil, but certainly doesn't compare to the efficiency of a cotton mop. The advantage is that it is easy to clean. Its flexible head has proven reliable so far and remains rigid no matter the direction of use, keeping my hands away from the heat of the grill (helping to reduce the need for grilling gloves). The handle's contoured and relatively flat design means the flexible head can only be adjusted up or down, not side-to-side. The plastic handle is handy but will likely melt if accidentally left on a hot metal surface. Overall I've been happy with this mop when I've used it to apply sauces of varying viscosity.
