Got a job at Home Assistant

Using a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ running Hass.io Home Assistant OS I got this unit working and paired it with a couple of Zigbee devices (Sylvania Smart Plug and Visonic window/door/temp sensor). I had to add the following lines at the end of the configuration.yaml file: zwave: usb_path: /dev/ttyUSB0zha: usb_path: /dev/ttyUSB1 database_path: /config/zigbee.db Note that two spaces are required before usb_path and database_path . lines, indentation is critical in .yaml files. So Z-WAVE on HA is a HUGE PAIN. Research documentation first

This stick has been abandoned. There is a very simple 1 page guide. Bad nodes cannot be removed. When setting up my devices, 2 out of 4 failed, so I stopped integrating, now it always shows 2 nodes. I tried to find a way to do a factory reset, but nobody seems to have found a way to do it. You can reinstall Home Assistant and it will still show the bad nodes that presumably remain on the device. I'm currently looking for another device to replace this one that actually has some support with it.

Works great with Home Assistant

I was a former user of Wink Center but there are rumors that the company is in financial trouble and there is some truth to those rumors as there have been several problems in the services of the cloud in the last few months, which will seriously affect my home automation. After the last issue with Wink I finally got fed up and decided to switch my home automation to local with my Home Assistant installation! Since I had a combination of ZigBee and Z-Wave devices, this dongle fitted the billโ€ฆ

These wands will not work with Home Assistant. Do not buy.

I bought this wand about 2 months ago to use with a domestic helper. Immediately after I connected the flash drive to my rPi 3 with Hass.io, problems started. I enabled zha and not only did zigbee NOT work, it also caused the UI to fail to load. I've scoured the web for information on possible errors and found that the "batch" of Home Controls sticks I received from the seller had the wrong firmware installed, so I contacted them. They were great and offered to replace the stick after Iโ€ฆ

Good luck Wink for Networking Products

I started experimenting with Home Assistant about a year ago and only recently (a few months ago) decided to upgrade my unreliable Wink hub with this little ZigBee/Zwave dongle substitute. Coupled with my existing Home Assistant server, I've never looked back and threw my Wink Hub in the e-waste heap. Setup was relatively easy in Ubuntu 18.04, and connecting devices is done right within Home Assistant. Now that Wink is holding your hub and devices hostage with their ridiculous "subscribe for aโ€ฆ

Works with Openhab2

Works great with Openhab2. I use the unstable build along with some unofficial addons to get Zigbee and Zwave working with all my devices. I am currently using a Raspberry Pi 3 + Openhabian setup. Brief History I first tried openhab2 on a headless ubuntu server on a pi 3 and it worked to a point. From time to time when I do an update, Openhab crashes or starts glitching and I spend most of my time debugging and fixing crashes. I can't remember how many times I've started from scratch. Cons
  • Nothing here

This device runs reliably on Linux and works great with Home Assistant, so it gets 5 stars for that. Other reviewers have posted a detailed guide on how to get this device working with Raspbian Jessie. Unfortunately, no Windows drivers are provided and it took several hours to get this device up and running on Windows 10. The manufacturer doesn't provide instructions on how to do this, so I deducted a few stars for this silly oversight. The following procedure describes how to install andโ€ฆ
