While it's definitely more than I was looking to spend, I'm glad I shelled out. This is a nice and compact shredder that has been happily devouring my old tax returns for the past few days. He accepts thick advertising envelopes without my opening and doesn't notice the paperclips. If I put in more than the recommended 12 leaves (maybe 14 or so) the bonsai will grow a bit bigger for a minute or less, but it gets the job done. It also hung slightly on the sheets when I wasn't. Plug them right in and there was no problem. I was glad it's really quiet and the noise it makes not offensive at all and doesn't even interrupt the conversation. The basket rolls out very easily for emptying and the blue ready indicator does not glare. The reels just spin back and forth and I want them to spin in all directions. But it is not difficult to move sideways, forwards or backwards because there is no real resistance. The shredder was very well packaged with large styrofoam supports. Although it was a heavy box, the shredder arrived perfectly packaged. EDIT 11/2018. To my surprise, my favorite shredder wouldn't accept the CD, and nothing I put in that slot made it into the shredder. Otherwise it continued to work perfectly. I asked a question asking what to do to possibly fix this. Bonsaii customer service emailed me within 24 hours apologizing for the problem. They asked me to make a video of trying to destroy the CD to help them diagnose it. They followed until they got the video. The next day they wrote that something had broken in the CD shredder assembly and they would send me another shredder as it was still under warranty. I didn't have to send the broken one back. After verifying the shipping address, I received a tracking number. Three days later I received a replacement shredder which works perfectly and shreds CDs without any problems. I was even more impressed by the fact that Bonsaii came in the same color that I originally ordered. If I could give six stars I would.
