This suit insulates well and will keep you warm. You should expect that, especially if it's a really hot day. I bought this product as a backup as I don't ride in the rain. But as you know, sometimes rain can surprise you. I ride the Road King classic with the intention of doing a four day trip. On such a long trip south, the rain is bound to catch you by surprise, and I did. Was able to stop, put on a suit and keep going and staying dry. I have never been in a torrential downpour and I have a windshield on my bike but this product has worked really well. As for the durability of the material; I try to take care of my stuff as best as I can, so I don't necessarily see the problem. But if you're a slob, and a slob who doesn't know how to take care of things, then look for something thicker and stronger.
