Review on 🚿 Aquasana Salt-Free Descaler Filter and Purifier by Daniel Morris

Many reviews talk about the installation and the user's opinion of the device but do not provide actual test data to show the difference/confirm that it actually works. Without providing test results (that I could find), I was concerned/skeptical about the ability to soften and reduce odors when purchasing this product as I have very hard and alkaline well water with a strong hydrogen sulfide odor. To get some form of data, I bought a First Alert home water test and ran the test a few months before installation and again a few days after. The results show a significant change in water hardness to softer, as well as a noticeable reduction and almost complete disappearance of the hydrogen sulfide odor. While the performance is great, I don't recommend installing this unless you have basic plumbing and carpentry skills. If you have these skills, the installation is not very difficult, but you will spend several hours on it. It would also be helpful to have written instructions (along with flushing) along with gaskets for aligning the pre and post filters with the main filters. Finally, the Pro Kit only works with PEX and would be a lot easier to use if it offered Shark Bite vs. Crimp Slip. This would save the installer money on tools and extra parts needed for the compression fittings. Overall I'm very satisfied but would probably have bought much sooner if they had had more performance specs and installation details. Note: other components tested with first warning. the rates were already at a low/acceptable level and showed no change.
