It was very easy to adjust the length and install. I liked that it comes with a long cord so you can bring it into your home and then look at it and decide how long you want it to end up being. If you shorten it (we did it), you'll need to strip new sections of wire. but if you're not comfortable with that, you should probably hire an electrician to do all the work. Anyway, I installed it myself in just a few minutes and it looks great.
