Click directly on the button to increase the distance. I use it for bow hunting. I don't think it would be that easy to use over 100 meters. The optics are quite clear, but a higher magnification would be better. I like the tilt feature. I found my pace was about right over the distances. The LCD works great in daylight. Sunrise or sunset, it's really hard to read. Mine came with a battery but no case. And that's okay because I don't like Velcro on my hunting gear. I just use an old sock and it works great.
