These shelves are GREAT. Why? They come in compact, well-protected packaging, grow in minutes, are very tall and look fantastic. The price is perfect. The components are not "real" iron pipe (I used to make my own shelves out of iron pipe and they are very heavy), but some type of lighter metal. It fits me! The shelves seem to be made of real wood (!). If you buy cheap furniture, you know what imitation wood looks like. you can tell. The guests can tell. It's probably pretty cheap wood, but who cares - it's REAL, beautifully stained, aged and overall looks fantastic with books and objects placed on it. more and get something with real wood. I just bought a second one for my office and it will hold my books, pictures and columns.
