Review on DECKER 10 Speed Blender Black BL2010BP by Jennifer Garrard

Worthy replacement. Plastic Parts

Bought to replace my Commissioner Oster Food whose engine burned out on Thanksgiving Day after years of reliable service. This modern model has a plastic jug and a lid. It disassembles completely for cleaning, but it's best if you rinse the jug out and then pulse warm water to rinse the dishes. (Either scoop out of the sink or add a tiny drop of dish soap to a 3/4 pitcher of water.) Throw away, rinse, disassemble, dry. Following a modern theme, there are only two recipes in the guide. First for the Wild Berry yogurt cooler. This requires frozen yogurt and fruit, as well as liquid juice. The second is for mango corn salsa. He uses all fresh ingredients, including tomatoes, but then suggests using canned corn. I suspect it's because the salsa isn't cooked and the canned corn is an attempt to pretend it's plain. None of these recipes are "healthy" by nutritional standards, but Betty Crocker has long been teaching young women the art and science of making good food, and if you don't have one of those priceless cookbooks, there's the internet. The blender was new about the time I was born, and my mother's copy has a whole section dedicated to blended drinks. Today I made carrot soup in my new blender. Always delicious 8 ounces whole carrots, unpeeled Handful of chopped onions Diced beef or chicken broth A cup of water Wash carrots, do not peel. Microwave or steam until tender. Let cool down. Chop the onion, throw in a jug with ingots and water. Pulse. Mix with carrots. Reheat in the microwave or in a small saucepan on the stove. Season to taste and add a dollop of butter, real butter, not margarine.

Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
