Seems to work on snails

I wrapped this tape around one of my raised beds last summer but wasn't gardening at the time so couldn't rate how effective it was. Last week I decided to put it around another raised bed as my lettuce had holes in it. While I was putting the film on, I saw a snail climbing determinedly onto the bed that had last summer's film on it, so I stopped to have a look. I watched the snail disappear into the copper band, bumped into it a few times, and turned away. The snail walked sideways and tried to find another way up. He slapped the ribbon again, poked around a bit, then turned away again. At that moment, I grabbed my phone and took a video. What you see is the snail's third attempt to cross the ribbon, you can see the slime trail on the left where it tried before. After a failed third attempt, I took the snail into the woods and went back to mending the lettuce bed. It may not stop every snail and slug, but I've seen enough evidence that it will stop at least some. That was a few days ago, doesn't look like I've had any new holes in my lettuce leaves since I put the tape on. I recommend you try it.
