Instead of replacing a wall mount that was properly attached to the stand I was looking for a mount adapter to replace it with a 20-17 year old TV with a newer TV. The first thing I found was the VESA size of the new TV (200 x 200). Knowing this, I found this particular product and gave it a try. Not only is it made of durable solid metal (as opposed to flimsy, bendable aluminum), but it also comes with 3 different sizes of mounting screws and matching spacers. The screws that are supposed to attach the adapter plate to the old wall mount came with lock washers so I don't have to worry about the adapter loosening over time. Again it worked great. Just a word of caution, when installing the TV, use washers whenever possible so you don't over-tighten them. This can easily damage your TV. You will notice in the attached picture that I folded the spacers (supplied with the adapter plate) to be absolutely sure that I wouldn't damage the TV by screwing them in too tight. Spacers prevent this.
