Review on πŸ’¦ Little Giant 518550 PE-2YSA Submersible Parts Washer Pump: Powerful 300 GPH Cleaning Performance by Jean Donjuan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Strong finish. Safe for solvents. Replaces the cheap Harbor Freight pump. (UPDATED July 2021)

(ORIGINAL Review September 2016) Powerful performance. Safe for solvents. Replaces the cheap Harbor Freight pump. Watch the attached video for my installation at Harbor Freight's car wash. Installation Notes: The valve above the oil filter serves two purposes. 1) Prevent liquid leakage when changing oil filter. 2) Allows flow rate adjustment from full to dripping. In fact, the total flow of this pump is so high that it can splatter. Bending it back a bit with the valve allows you to do the job more accurately. Not shown in the video. I drilled 3/16 holes in the base of the washer legs to bolt the legs to the carriage. Drill these holes with the washer upside down before filling with solvent. Also, I replaced all the locknuts and mounting screws in the junction box with aircraft screws. Be sure to reinstall the two good grounds in the junction box. I re-crimped the good quality spade lugs on the ground wires and used some solder. The Little Giant pump works great. The big unknown is durability. I'll keep an eye on it. UPDATE 6/18/2018: Little Giant pump continues to work great. The output current remains strong. The original solvent in the tank is now dark due to the build up of old oil and grease at the bottom of the tank. However, the filtered liquid that passes through the oil filter exits the flexible nozzle clean and almost transparent. This is a great mod! UPDATE July 15, 2021: Still working. No problems after 5 years.
