I have been using this filter for the 12 years of owning my camry and have used fram filters long before that. It works as it should; As far as I know, this is the best filter on the market. The sandpaper-like grip has made me a fan of this brand. This allows me to change the filter in my car without tools, and I can't overstate the convenience of this feature alone. Some people comment on the quality of a filter by how it looks inside. While it's natural to judge products by their looks, I wouldn't think much about it. The only way to properly evaluate an oil filter is to run lots of dirty oil through it and see if it does its job. Consumer Reports did it a long time ago and Fram caught on. I'm sure the product has changed since then and I'm not aware of any recent research. All I can say is that I have been using this brand for over a decade and have never had a problem with the filter.
