Bad at first. The cap is attached to the radiator which is great not to lose it but a real needle when trying to clean the radiator. Since I love that the tether keeps the lid from slipping off the Mini-Me, I deal with it tipping over when I try to wash it in the sink. Now for the good, or rather for the excellent. I'm not sure how well this will work with the ice pack you buy at the grocery store or gas station, but the ice we put in it lasted a freaking week! So there are a few factors that contributed to this, but my goodness, I was surprised. One of the factors was some kind of deception. Although it was a hike that only took half the time, I spent the last few days at our house where I had left just to see how long the ice would last. The biggest contributor to the longevity of our ice, at least in my opinion, has been making solid blocks. We took Tupperware containers that fit in the cooler and froze drinking water in them. We put some ice stones in it, filled it with water and loaded it. Lenny with ice water for a few days on the hike and also for the rest of the week when we got home. Of course, results may vary, but man, if you try the hard bricks of frozen drinking water like I did, I doubt you'll be disappointed with this cooler.
