Review on Optimized Hauppauge PVR-150 PCI TV Tuner for WinTV by Alex Tellekson

Good product - as advertised. I used to use an ATI All-in-Wonder 7500 TV/VCR card that used my computer and its CPU at 100% when recording (Dell P4 - 2.4GHz, 768MB RAM, 200GB, 7200rpm/ min, HD, on Windows XP ). I had to close all unnecessary services and programs to have some write stability and not all memory was freed when I exited the View/Write application. There are no such problems with the Hauppauge card. It typically only uses 25-30% of my CPU, is very stable, frees up all memory (so I don't have to restart between recording sessions), and generally "just works". Recordings are clear, audio and video are in sync, and the included DVD editing and authoring software, PVR and U-Lead, is easy to use and produces good results. We were so pleased we bought a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 350 card to get external video output. Now we can enjoy watching and pausing live TV on both our flat screen TV and PC monitor while watching and pausing live TV. Good kit, easy assembly according to the instructions. Highly recommended.
