Hauppauge WinTV-150 PVR

Good product - as advertised. I used to use an ATI All-in-Wonder 7500 TV/VCR card that used my computer and its CPU at 100% when recording (Dell P4 - 2.4GHz, 768MB RAM, 200GB, 7200rpm/ min, HD, on Windows XP ). I had to close all unnecessary services and programs to have some write stability and not all memory was freed when I exited the View/Write application. There are no such problems with the Hauppauge card. It typically only uses 25-30% of my CPU, is very stable, frees up all memory (so I…

Great product - does what it says

I wanted to put a TV in my kids playroom which also had a computer. This device allows me to use my computer as a TV. It works great, my 4 year old has no problem with it. I installed the device into my only PCI slot, connected a coax cable to it, booted my computer and the drivers loaded automatically. I have XP SP2. The whole process took about 10 minutes. The software then starts and after about 5 minutes runs through the cable channels to save the channels. After that you are ready to go…

Works right out of the box!

Within 5 minutes of installing Win-TV-PVR-150 (model 1045) on a Media Center PC, I was watching TV and recording my first show using Windows Media Center's native guide and PVR functionality auf installed the software that came with the card and found it just as easy to use, if not as aesthetically pleasing as the Windows MCE interface. TitanTV and WinTV Scheduler work great together, but WinTV2000 . Well, it allows you to watch TV on your computer. In fact, I'm watching the Red Sox as I write…

Usually does what it's supposed to. But still stuck in the bunny ear era

I've had a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150 for just under 4 months now. While it works more or less as advertised, it's a bit clunky software wise. It scans the antenna channels, not the attached cable box, the included channel management software doesn't work there. I've encountered issues where it goes into "zoom" mode, which I can't always let go of. The remote control and my cable box don't always get along, at best there are long delays. Now I have the latest updates and I used to have BeyondTV…

GREAT! If you can find software to make it work.

I spent most of the evening and night trying to figure out how to get the program to work. I'm using a brand new build - Windows 7, 8GB RAM, AMD Quad Core 4.1GHz. The drivers that came with it worked great! But when it comes to capture software, that's a different story. I've tried the included AMCap, I've tried WINtv downloaded directly from the Hauppauge site, I've tried MSDVR, Dscaler, Powercinema, the built-in Windows Media Center setup software, EZgrabber, MythTV and NextPVR but nothing…
