Look elsewhere Good for router bits

I loved these bits but was disappointed with the results. The bits have been packaged in a beautiful protective wooden box and the bit sizes are printed on the outer box. But there were no instructions on how to use them - I ended up watching an online video about MLCS beats. You will need to attach the straight board to the work piece with double-sided tape in order to cut with the slotting cutter. Hold the tape 2mm from the edge (so the resin and fibers of the tape don't get caught in the drill) and 4cm from the ends (so the veneer doesn't pull out when the ruler is removed). Make a few passes and increase the depth of the cut. It cuts well on 3/4 thick birch plywood, although cutting across the grain of the veneer has flattened the edge slightly. In the MLCS video I watched, they cut a hardwood sheet piling in one pass. I used 4/4 straight grain birch - it should be a duck soup and leave a glossy, even edge. Instead I ended up with horrible chatter and an irregular cut, even with flat sidewalks and two springboards to support the work. The bit finish has burned in unexpected places, which makes me wonder if it's a manufacturing defect. The cut pieces did not fit together. I thought they were supposed to be snug but I had to use clamping force and even then the fit was more open than I was hoping. I would not recommend this set. Look for a higher quality bit that can deliver the results you expect.
