Our chopping boards are in need of repair. After years of daily use, they tend to dry out and crack. Cracking cutting boards are not normal! We got this mineral oil to lubricate them and it worked so well! All we did was apply oil to both sides of the boards and let it sit overnight. I gave it a quick wash in the morning to avoid washing off the excess oil and they were fine too. We left them in the dryer for 3 or 4 days to allow the excess oil to soak in and not get into our closet. After the restoration, the wood is now fully hydrated and should last a long time. We had a lot of oil left over from when we oiled all of our boards, so we can easily do them all at least 2 more times.
