I lost my old alarm code and was afraid that an expensive replacement was waiting for me. NOT RIGHT. I bought this remote and quickly replaced my old remote with the help of You Tube. The instructions aren't that clear, but using You Tube helped me. If you have a new car and an aftermarket installation, you need to find the main programming module, which is usually located behind the rear view mirror. 1) Turn on ignition (do not start car). 2 ) Press the program button on the device behind the rear view mirror. Hold the button down for a few seconds and you will hear three beeps. This will take you into valet mode. 3) To pair your new remote control with the main unit, press the desired button on the new remote control. 4) Turn off the ignition and check the newly programmed remote control! If you need further explanation, look up the code. Remote programming of alarms on You Tube. Very helpful. I will definitely order more.
