First off I think this will be a good shoe that will replace the specialized shoes I've had for decades with holes and frayed edges. I like the strap that sits on top, not on the side of the foot. They are a pleasure to travel with. I'll find out when I get the right size (44) by simply sending back the 45 that turned out to be too big. I listened to those who said you have to go up a size and it was bad in every way. I run in Brooks 11-1/2s and the cycling shoes I received were and are now an exact 44. The larger heel strap is a nice improvement. I've been a triathlete for almost 3 decades. I hope this helps you solve your sizing dilemma.
