This color is permanent and cannot be washed so I would suggest you wear old painting clothes before using. I bought this for our home school so kids can make wearables. There are many bottles with lots of color at a great price. The color palette is also excellent. There are no spikes on the lenses so you can't write directly with the paint like we've done in the past. You will need fingers, brushes, sponges, etc. for this. Several brushes are included. I left the shirts on for 24 hours, after which they dried. When the kids saw the color, they really wanted to use it. This is one of her favorite art activities at school. This allows them to use their wits and imagination, as well as fine motor skills. It's a lot of fun to watch their creations. You don't get straight lines as easily as you can with lace paints, but it was great fun to see what they came up with and lots of paint to do it again.
