Years ago I took an electronics course to learn the basics of soldering, etching printed circuit boards and building simple circuits. I got back into electronics looking for interesting things to do during this pandemic. This is a great second or third project. The hardest part is soldering the surface mount chip. (If this is your first time soldering on the surface, it's really easy, but can be intimidating.) Because of this flimsy soldering, I'd recommend using magnifying glasses like the $17 YOCTOSUN LED Head Magnifier. I used .015" Kester 44 solder. This might be overly detailed, but the little solder made surface mount very easy. If you're looking at this project, you're probably not an electronics guru. Maybe this info will help! I'm switching those Turn on music and look at the lights as I type this I recommend this speaker set.
