Know what you are buying

This is a cheap lightweight metal coat rack. I purchased it because of the price. I ordered it in black. It arrived quickly, and it was well packaged. Assembly wasn't hard. (I put it together on a rainy evening while sipping on a cold adult beverage.) It comes with a metal screwdriver, but after tightening two screws, I decided to go to the garage and find the cordless drill. It is much easier to put it together with the drill, and I highly recommend that you do this. Saves a lot of time and effort. Once it was put together, I had no problem lifting it or moving it around the house. It is super lightweight. Now for the real information, this is a SUPER CHEAP coat rack. The black metal color that I ordered is shiny & sharp, but the screws are silver. So the screws stick out like sore thumbs against the dark color. It looks bad. It looks cheap. The lack of weight, especially at the bottom, makes this rack very easy to tip over. My husband put his heavy insulated hoodie on it the day after I assembled it, and a few minutes later we heard a crash. The coat rack had tipped over due to the weight of his hoodie. Also, it scratched my hardwood floor. I have two beautiful toddler nephews that are always into everything when at our house, and I don't want them anywhere near this thing in case it tips over on one of them. So, would I buy this again? Absolutely not. It doesn't hold heavy coats without tipping over. It is a hazard to the littles in my family. It looks funky with the silver screws on the black metal. I've moved it to the back bedroom, and I'm trying to figure out exactly what to do with it. maybe put it in the next yard sale. but then somebody else will have to deal with it being a hazard in their home.Overall, if you are buying for price and easy set up, this is your coat rack. If you are buying for solidness and want something that will stand up under weight, and last the long haul, then I would look elsewhere.
