I wanted to replace my boring cracked bathroom tile but our bathroom needs a lot of work and we are saving money to gut and redo it so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on its modernization to invest. I saw this tile for about $11 a box and fell in love with the vintage pattern so decided to give it a try. I was nervous laying it because the tiles in my 93 year old house are all uneven and my plan was to lay this floor right on top of the tile grout and all! π¬ I also had no experience laying floor tiles and lacked some fixtures (e.g. a tile roller). Nevertheless, the floor turned out beautiful! I made about a million mistakes installing this flooring, but luckily the pattern is very forgiving. I'm glad I decided to work with this product for the first time to lay the floor, it's perfect for a newbie like me! I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 because it's not perfect. Some tiles came with no glue on the back and the pattern didn't match exactly (although the manufacturer states this explicitly). Also, there's a tile that always pops up in the corner, so I have to use construction glue to attach it. But here's the thing: For $11 a box, she's not going to have super strong glue or a perfect pattern that fits perfectly. . I agree because to be honest the renovation is very easy and cheap and the floor tiles only cost me $45. For the price I'm perfectly fine with all the flaws in the product. And as I mentioned before, it looks amazing and is a HUGE improvement over what I had before. A few notes: the manufacturer says no grout is needed, but I used grout between the wall and the tile (I left a gap because it says the tiles can expand later, causing them to warp when closed). placed close to the wall) and lots of sealant around the fittings. I'm also thinking of a layer of polyacrylic for floor protection, sealing and full adhesion. UPDATE: It's been almost three months and the floor is fine! My only regret is that I never sealed it with polyacrylic as originally planned. As the tiles are textured they tend to trap dirt and grime which you CAN see on the white portions of the pattern. Swiffer Mop wipes work great, but you have to rub to get the dirt out of all those little crevices. Do yourself a favor and don't be a jerk like me. Seal your floor! This saves you valuable cleaning time.
