Works well for "medium " projects, but not for fine detail work.

I wanted to give you a great review but sorry. can not. I've only tried them on two surfaces, so they might work better on some than others. I used it to paint clogs that were used as garden art. Although I covered the wood surface with a clear coat, the handles managed to catch on some grains and then spatter. Not very noticeable unless you are an artist or a perfectionist. it got a little annoying. All said and done, they got the job done. Some colors weren't opaque enough, so I went through them twice. Sometimes they were drawn smooth, other times I had to shake them hard to make them flow and then they smudged and wasted a lot of pigment. Some colors separated the color from the base and I had to shake and dip to bring them back together. No instructions on how to keep the tips clean and prevent excess paint from sticking to the caps, it was difficult to remove the caps. I just feel like a lot of product was wasted on bugs. I also painted some small antique beads and couldn't get the tiny detail I was looking for. Some paints took a long time to dry, and paint that settled in a thick layer did not dry out. it remained pliable and slightly tacky. I think these pens are good for signs and big crafts, not small fine work. Compared to similar pens I've used in the past, these worked just as well or even better. That being said, I'd like to try the larger tips in a related project.
