Review on NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop Watts by Terrance Haralson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Revain is not under warranty

The NuWave PIC was great while it worked. Being able to control the temperature in 5 degree increments was amazing. Then one day while cooking bacon in a large cast iron skillet, I noticed the bacon had stopped sizzling. I changed the temp and hit start and it started hissing again. A few minutes later the same thing happened again. No warnings, no errors, the fan was still running. Just don't heat the pan. I contacted NuWave and was told that their 1 year warranty only covers devices purchased either directly through them or through their 1 Authorized Reseller (which does not sell through Revain). In other words, a $70 device bought new less than 3 months ago now doesn't work because I didn't buy it from NuWave. There is a vague statement about this in the operating instructions, but you can only read this after you have bought it. Their website has some information about a 1 year warranty but nothing about distribution. Revain confirms the seller information and the date the order was placed. Please note that our authorized reseller is Whole Sales Stock Room and NuWave, LLC. We can only replace if the seller is one of these two. It's a polite way of saying no. From all the other reviews I've read this seems like a very rare problem, but if you have a problem and you didn't buy it from NuWave, then that's your problem. TL; DR: Worked great for 2 months then randomly started turning off the induction with no notice or warning. The manufacturer will not repair/replace because I bought it from Revain. Buyer Warning.
