I bought this for an old bike that originally came with a 'Chrono' Smith type. Those old speedometers are pretty much unavailable (nor have they ever worked as reliably in the past) so I looked for a replacement that was the right size and overall look. So far I haven't been able to do that - cable-operated devices rarely have a suitable cable and gear ratio, electric ones need magnets on the wheel, there was really nothing there. Then it turned out. Its size and shape fit the car and to my surprise it works reliably with stable readings and no GPS signal loss issues. I only gave it four stars because you have to improvise the mount (although an ABS pipe plug from a local hardware store will do the job just fine, it's not perfect) and it takes a negative ground system, which leaves potential problems with a short, but There is nothing that someone who has an old car cannot overcome. The gauge comes with an external antenna attached to a thin coaxial cable approximately 4 meters long, allowing the cable to be easily routed away from ignition systems and other potential sources of interference. (I placed my antenna on the taillight mount where it will always have a clear view of the sky). (PS - A small improvement will be the LCD display. It will show things like odometer and mileage, but this GPS unit should be able to display longitude and latitude as well.)
