Review on πŸ”’ Ultimate Protection: Pacsafe Backpack Protector Silver in Size [specified] by Tony Mayes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Can be increased by one size. 120 liters is quite normal for my 35 liter backpack. It has huge hip belt holes that need fixing.

People complain about their hands getting through holes, yes they do. While this will protect large items like laptops, smaller items will need a box or similar. I have a separate padlock to use. Usually there is not a single security patch. If they wanted smaller holes, they could also double the weight and price. Most security systems aren't 100% reliable, but they should stop all but the most determined opportunists, but won't stop professionals with specialized tools. When you encounter criminals with bolt cutters, you could still get into trouble if you can't scare them off. I think that should be enough as I know its limitations. One limitation I didn't mention is the two areas where the loops don't connect to the main wire through which the pack bag waist straps must pass. I have found that when not in use, huge holes can form, say 8 inches or more, which is unacceptable to me. Using an extra lock to secure this part seems to help. The size was not mentioned either. It is advertised as 120L but the packaging says 75-120L but the photo is of my 35L 5.11 Rush 24 and it shrinks completely to about the same size as the other holes. The diagram is a little confusing but I was able to figure it out. It comes with a carrying case that folds in half and attaches with Velcro, 3 keys and instructions that fit in the case.

Pros
  • Quality workmanship
Cons
  • Boring packaging
