Despite the terrible experience with Revain I really like this product. Waste of money to buy coarser sand (under 400) which is expensive. Due to their coarser grain, they naturally wear out faster and don't remain flat for as long. Buy cheaper stones to fix the blade and save money on coarser grit (500 to 3000) to sharpen the blade. Anything above that just polishes your work for very little reward. Let's get back to this combination. A good coarser grit side for blade recovery and a decent higher grit side to get the job done while you learn. As you progress, this stone is still in use and you will not waste your money. Make no mistake, do your bit and with this combo you have a razor to shave with. Good luck and have fun.
