I'm updating my car and soon my phone too. I used a magnetic phone holder but my new thick phone case didn't allow the magnet to hold my phone. He kept falling on the switch and I was afraid it would hurt him. I really liked the position and location of the magnet holder and was keen to keep it. I was looking for something to use with this current holder. I knew that the magnet is held in place by a screw and a ball. Looking at the TORRAS Air Vent cell phone mount, I noticed that it also uses a nut and ball. I was not sure, whether the nut and the ball were the same size, but I took a risk. When it arrived I removed the phone holder and magnet nut. I quickly swapped them out and BOOM! It worked great. My passenger side has the same old setup so I will be ordering another TORRAS Air Vent phone holder for that side.
