This light is very bright! With my Nikon D600 camera with 6 NiMH AA mounted in the light without a diffuser in a dark room, the exposure of a white wall from 1 meter: ISO 100, f/2.8, 1/160 is centered, brightest and most rolloff at the edges of the frame 24mm This corresponds to about 2600 lux per meter. I measured the battery terminals with an Extech multimeter: at 6 AA at 7.76 V (no load), at full light output the current consumption is 1.4 Ah; at half brightness (one level darker) 560 mAh; and at minimum power (5.67 stops less than full) 26 mAh (the light goes out after this stage). It is impossible to view the light at full power and work with video. I can't imagine ever using it for flooding, but it can certainly light up a large room if you need it. You can save money and buy the CN-160 if you only need it for fill light. In a real-life example, the D600 at full power with a diffuser in an 8x12 room facing away is measuring at 24mm ISO 200, f/2.8, 1/30. You must shoot at least 50mm to keep vignetting to a minimum. At full capacity, the batteries have to be changed every hour. However, with normal use of video fill light, it may take 4-10 hours depending on the brightness. +11Pink diffuser: 4950K, -12
