Review on SYLVANIA Equivalent Energy Dimmable Efficient by Nathan Unruh

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Bad version of this product. See edited review.

Purchased 05/20/20, one burst and started to melt in the socket on 04/04/21. If I hadn't been there, there's a good chance the lightbulb would have started the fire. I had 2 of these while using UL listed recessed lights in my kitchen when one of the bulbs started flickering and then went out. I was cooking, so I didn't get around to it. After about 15 seconds I clapped loudly and there was a hiss and immediately hit the switch. I removed the bulb and found that the base is hotter than an incandescent bulb. People using this type of LED know they never get hot, so I suspect it will eventually start to melt. If I hadn't been prepared in advance when it happened, who knows if a fire would have started? See my original below when compared to the same lightbulb bought from a Shoprite store near me. I knew as soon as I pulled them out of the box that something was wrong with them. Now I'll see if they live up to the 10 YEAR LIFE claim: Longer life than standard 65W incandescent bulbs (11,000 hours) at only 9W. Suggestions' because even if I used the bulbs continuously to this day, it would only be about 7700 hours First Review - I bought two packs of these bulbs to replace other Sylvania bulbs I had in the recessed lighting in my kitchen, the first thing that struck me was how much lighter and cheaper they are better than other Sylvania bulbs I've bought from the store, I don't know if that means they're pirated or the quality of this particular model just doesn't match what I bought, but I did weighed them and they are only about 60% the weight of the original bulbs I had Looks suspicious Not enough to deduct a star by the way Incredibly efficient and beautiful bright soft white light.
