I wired this up in a 2018 Honda CRV. It's ready to use right out of the box with no firmware upgrade or troubleshooting required. I don't see any blue flashes around the icons described by others, no delays when connecting, launching and running applications. I'm using an iPhone 12 (it's itself on an ESR MagSafe compatible charger, also on Revain). The device itself is identified as a VW-ECFA via Bluetooth, confirming that it is model independent. When connected, the phone created a second CarPlay profile, so there are two of them - one for the wired connection and one for the wireless connection. Can't confirm durability yet, but the initial plug and play experience is just as good as wired.
