Okay, I'll give 3 stars for now. I bought 2 of these. One works fine after 2 years, the new one failed after less than 1 year (18 December). The good news is that they come with a 3 year guarantee. However, after looking at the failed motor (symptoms: plugged in, it hums but won't turn), I searched for obvious and easily fixable problems and found that the starting capacitor was overheating and melted "stuff" out of it had come out. A replacement cap costs $10-$15 and is a lot cheaper than shipping a 42-pound motor, but the impeller froze too. I contacted Wayne and they seem nice. They will issue an RMA and said the process would take 6 days and I knew I would have to pay for the return shipping. I consider options and costs. But one working and one broken is a 50% failure rate for me and I am considering buying a replacement as 6 days without water means my wife and I start smelly. ;) I was thinking of another Wayne with a 3 year warranty but will see how this return goes and then come back and update this review.
