Review on Vikan 40113 Stainless Mounted Scraper by George Kapoor

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I use them almost every day.

I work in the plumbing field and love these scrapers. I like that they are made in Denmark. Remco (Vikan brand) are made in China but work great. Vikan instruments are of slightly better quality. You can say that steel is very well heat treated and that it is a very durable product. I don't know what happens to them in my facility, but people have to wear them out or lose them somehow. You can bend them if you use them too hard, but obviously this isn't something most people would do every day if they could help. Anything can break or wear out, but I've never seen a crunch or anything crazy. They should last a very long time. Mounted on a pole, they are also very useful. I wish Revain would sell more Vikan products because I would buy them for myself (for personal use). You really only need a few if you don't care about your tool or you've lost it. Steel is flexible but tough. It is also very resistant to corrosion. I have never seen a Vikan product rust or break. You can bend them if you really abuse them, but that's the only one I've seen. I don't know what kind of steel it is, but very high quality. I hope they never stop making them. The Remco line is not of the same quality. Your plumbing department will miss them if you stop ordering them. My department doesn't order different products from Vikan, but everything they make looks good. The buckets are also very high quality. Their products are just a joy to hold and use. It's hard to describe the difference, but Vikan has a good design and excellent materials.
