I have the original elbow clamp and it works great! I had no problems with that. When I received this clamp I played with it for about 5 minutes and couldn't get it to clamp the piece needed. I took out my old Kreg clamp and forced it to clamp for 30 seconds. The new design, while great, is far from perfect. It is extremely difficult to set up and the "Auto" function does not work well. It has a smaller width that can pinch it. I clamped 2 2x4s together and they didn't fit. While the old Kreg clip fits with no problem.
