I bought 2 of these and have used them about 3 dozen times. One works great and the other barely binds no matter how hard you adjust it. If I can get this clip to work properly, it's great. I have the original elbow clamp and it works great! I had no problems with that. When I received this clamp I played with it for about 5 minutes and couldn't get it to clamp the piece needed. For this reason I bought 2 Premium Kreg Face Clips WITHOUT Automaxx just to make sure I have 2 clips that at least work fine. Now I'd happily spend the extra $20 and get the other two at Automaxx. Was so excited to get this after seeing it in use. I bought it for a small project I was doing. Unfortunately, after opening the package and going to my workbench, the swivel head fell to the ground. I love my Kreg jig and the clamps so I was glad to get them to help hold the pieces of wood in place when I use the screws. The first issue I noticed is that the flat clip keeps falling off the ball, which really annoys me. Second, it only opens 1 1/2 inches wide, so it won't work with Thinker plywood. I only had an older non-Automax version and it worked great. So I bought 2 of these to hold the .812" stacked cherry panels tightly together at each end of the edges of the cabinet body.
