Review on πŸ“€ Improved SEO-Friendly Lite-On AllWrite LVW-5005 DVD/CD Recorder by Rick Marie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than I thought

When I received my LVW-5005 from the guy at UPS, I was a bit worried about its condition. It seems that the office warehouse where I bought it (via Revain) didn't bother too much about tossing a regular box into a box twice the size for shipping without any backing. In a nutshell. It took about 5 minutes from unpacking and hooking up to the TV. The initial setup was easier than I've read in other DVD recorder reviews. It was like working with a VCR. I only took 3 shots, but I didn't have any problems with any of them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have a problem picking up some of the other reviews. I've noticed that there is a noticeable color difference (slightly darker) when the program is streamed to a TV screen via the recorder. BUT when playing from another device the color was normal maybe it's my cables, connection or tv? I have used GQ brand DVD-R discs which are not in the "list" and they work fine. I have a DVD player in my office that I've had since '99 and it plays well on it too. I was willing to spend money on Sony, but I couldn't believe their own DVDR machines didn't have FireWire (iLink). The only feature I wanted was the ability to record + and - R media, so Lite On was my next choice. Because all I've ever wanted to do is record TV shows (history, discover shows, etc.) and back up the old VHS. I never felt the need for a TOP END car. LiteOn is perfect for this in my opinion. As long as it works, I'm a happy camper. I hope that my investment lasts a long time because right now I will stand for the product. I only wish I had bought it for $149 instead of $179. After that I copied it with Disk Decrypter and transcoded it with NERO to make the menu look better. Pros: Cheap price even for $200. Super easy to install and use. Picture quality (recorded on disc) Accepts media other than the "approved list” Media recording/playback +/- R/RW Recording time 2/4/6 hours VS: Picture on TV a bit darker A bit noisy (just don't sit too close) The Loading a disc takes about 30 seconds, so plan ahead. The menu is very simple. I hope this helped. bass-heavy
