Review on Pirelli Ice Zero 205/60 R16 96T winter by Michal Adach ᠌

Beyond praise! The product definitely deserves your attention.

For a long time, I opted for winter tires. After reading numerous tests and analyzing, I decided to give up on this specific model because the old Hakka 7 had already lost all of its spikes (there is one peculiarity here, oddly enough: the Hakka spikes simply start to lose their carbide core when worn to a certain level). Whether it is asphalt or ice, the tire operates with assurance. It feels an order of magnitude better on the pavement than the new Hakka 7, and it is not inferior on snow and ice. I'm really happy with my decision; the rubber rustles and buzzes mostly on asphalt, but is completely silent on winter surfaces. The breakdown threshold in skid is less predictable than in Hakka, so it does require a little more attention. I was pleasantly impressed by how well it behaved in all other emergency braking scenarios on every surface (I tested it on ice, packed snow, freshly fallen loose snow, asphalt, and snow-covered ice). I hope it will still be produced the next time the rubber is replaced.

Pros
  • superior traction on any surface
Cons
  • Stronger buzzing than the Nokian Hakka 7, however after 500 kilometers it becomes much quieter.
