More than 3 years ago I bought my first Mekede Android 7 inch car radio for my racquet car and was impressed how well made it is and still works 100% after many years and constant daily use for 2 hrs I recently got a new car (Volkswagen Jetta S 2013) and its stock radio lacked the features I was used to from the first Mekede head unit. While browsing through Revain recently, I saw that Mekede made this model, one that was custom made. Suitable for Volkswagen car radios. The price was lower than my original purchase so I decided to try this model. So far I am very satisfied, have been using the new one for about a month. CarPlay works perfectly with my separately purchased USB CarPlay dongle (a generic dongle bought years ago that still works great with my new Mekede head unit as well as my latest model). I liked that the company included everything I needed to install a stereo. in my Volkswagen directly in the pits. The two included adapters for my OEM wiring harness were well thought out and generous. I installed it in less than an hour and had no installation issues. The overall sound quality is vastly improved over the stock VW head unit (RCD310, for those wondering) and even worked with my trunk amp and subwoofer combo. All of the wires on the harness adapter are labeled, and I also noticed that the Molex connectors are well thought out in their design, as each of the multiple connectors has a unique connector style so people don't accidentally misconnect it. This attention to detail is a sight to behold for those sore eyes! I've bought a lot of cheap Wish products in the past, so this little seal of quality from Mekede means a lot to me! with those who are less confident than me when it comes to installing automotive electronics. I'm by no means a pro, but I could see that an older customer might have trouble installing it if they weren't as confident as I was. I can't remember a physical manual that came with the box and this might be the only one I would advise Mekeda to invest in. It's really high quality in construction, has a lot of nice features for the price and installation is easy and Mekede includes everything you need to get started right away. Please note: CarPlay works with generic fake Chinese USB dongles and an Android app which is normally required for them to work but is NOT part of this list. They cost around $40-$60 at Revain and other online retailers. In general very satisfied! Check out the photo how it fits perfectly in my standard dash cavity and looks like stock!
