Installed this unit directly on our 25ft RV. On our second trip, the car slammed on the brakes right in front of us (then swerved right out of the left lane). I was able to apply those brakes manually and came to a smooth, controlled stop. Less than 100 miles later we approached a musty yellow light at a long intersection and pulled into a new red light with little room to stop. Just press the brake pedal, apply the trailer brakes and we came to a gentle stop again. I love this controller so much I recommended it to my dad for his new RV and I recommend this simple setup to anyone who thinks it will suit their needs.
