can be easily and quickly screwed directly onto my 2018 latitude compass. There were no instructions but it was easy to understand. The brackets are labeled front and back, the longer strip is in front, and I've pointed all the arrows forward. All holes are aligned and provided with socket head screws directly screwed in. It only took 15 minutes to install, looks pretty good for the price. The brackets are made of durable plastic, not aluminum. they look really solid. but I'm sure they will hold up well with a basket or kayak.
