I've never had coffee in my life (and I'm old already!) but have recently started making my own greek yogurt at home to manufacture. Sifting yogurt through cheesecloth was messy, expensive, and more of a hassle than I wanted to. Someone suggested coffee filters. After the first one broke when saturated and I was trying to lift a large batch of yogurt, I set up a strainer with gauze as a hammock/sling to lift the coffee filter. Thickened yoghurt does not stick to the filter. It peels off like a dream. The filter keeps the gauze clean so after washing and drying the damp gauze I can use it with a new filter next time. I make big batches, up to ten cups of milk at a time, so these big filters are perfect.
