Review on 🔧 Dorman 425-176 Steering Shaft: Enhanced Performance for Select Models by Mardrequs Dorsey

Better design than OEM, the underside of the OEM countershaft is only splined halfway which I believe is a design flaw which over time can cause the lever to loosen in this area and cause misalignment , resulting in Chevrolet steering wheel noise. Dorman is designed to use the full length of the guide shafts for increased rigidity all around. I also replaced the lower steering wheel bearing which can be checked before installation by reaching under the dash and wiggling the intermediate shaft, if it moves in the bearing then the bearing is worn.
