I've had my eye on this computer case for a long time, waiting for the new build that finally showed up. I did a lot of research on this case and other "full-size tower" cases and decided to buy this device, even though the design may seem a bit dated from some sources. Now that I have been able to use this case and build a new system I am very happy with this full tower computer case. While the computer case is primarily aluminum, the main body is made from thick and heavy aluminum, which is incredibly stiff and heavy. The black anodized finish is absolutely top notch and the fit and finish is just superb. There was nothing fragile in that computer case. I checked out the Silverstone TJ-11 and while I like this case too, I found it a little overkill for what I was looking for. The interesting thing about this particular Silverstone computer case is that it's probably one of the best cases for custom liquid cooling or major layout changes. Since almost everything is bolted securely to the design, you can take apart the internal bezel and create a BTX-style layout if you wish, flipping the side of the motherboard. While sticking with Air Cooling for this particular computer build, I was impressed that both Phobya and Swiftech make very strong heatsink frames that fit this case perfectly at the bottom of the case, with ones already in place (and pre-installed). drilled) the holes for mounting the radiator bracket are already aligned. No drilling or tapping required. Since I didn't use the included HDD frames/brackets, but still liked the bottom fan location, I used a Phobya heatsink bracket and simply reinstalled the two fans in the same place using just the heatsink bracket. Everything fitted perfectly, and the bottom fans kept their "stock" position. I can use this to install a large heatsink later if I ever decide to use a custom water cooling system with free space. - I would like to add that whether one considers this design "outdated" or not, the fit and finish of this computer case is impeccable. The quality of looks, construction and finishes make it a work of art. This may have been my first full tower build, but it won't be my last. With room for computer cabling, plenty of optical bays, room for a dual power supply (if needed), and the option for custom water cooling, this is a winner even if you're using a standard ATX motherboard. The motherboard bosses are also quite "tall" in this case, meaning it's easy to route cables behind the motherboard if desired. On the other hand, this case width doesn't support the highest dual tower CPU air coolers on the market, like the Noctua NH-D15 (I've used the Noctua NH-C14S with great results). The spacing between the top two 120mm fans is pretty odd, but it's not hard to drill a few new holes in the grille if you want to mount them in slightly different positions. There isn't enough room on the top of the case for an all-in-one water system unless you want to install fans or a heatsink outside of the case, or you have a very thin heatsink or are using thin fans. If you want a case that offers a lot of great options when you open the box without modification, this probably isn't the best case. If you want a case that you can easily modify, change or really customize, the Silverstone TJ-07 is a great choice. If you really want to experiment with design there are a number of aftermarket companies (all in Europe it seems) that offer special panels, brackets and other items just for the special occasion. To sum up, I really love this computer case and it should serve me as long as the ATX format is alive and well.
