Review on Oumers Bike Link Plier - 2 in 1 Chain Plier for Missing Link, Opener, Closer, and Remover - Compatible with All Speed Chains - Bicycle Chain Repair Tool by Justin Rasmussen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great tool, consistently good quality. Why all the claims? You're doing it wrong.

These pliers work well. Some reviewers complain that they can only open but not close the link because they try to put both jaws in the center of the quicklink. That is not right. The correct way to use the chain pliers is to insert *one* jaw into the quick link and the other jaw into the adjacent pair of chain plates. The pliers will open and hold in place. Slightly pull the handles to the side and the link will pop out and lock into place. Even easier: You don't even need pliers for this. Simply slide the Quick Link onto the top of the chain - between the cassette and chainring - and step on the forward-facing pedal handle to tension the chain. The link appears and remains. dead simplicity.
